Student Questions

What is stepintoai.net?

stepintoai.net is an online tutoring service that helps GCSE and A Level students learn faster, feel more confident, and score higher in exams. You get structured lessons, clear explanations, and practical exam technique, all delivered online in a friendly, focused way.

Who are the tutors?

Our tutors are carefully selected for strong subject knowledge, calm teaching style, and real exam results. Many have recently sat the same GCSE and A Level exams you are working toward, so they understand what actually gets marks, and what wastes time.

How do I register?

Register on stepintoai.net as a Student. If your parent or guardian is paying, you will also add their details during signup so they can approve bookings and payments.

Do I need a parent or guardian’s approval?

Usually, yes. If you are under 18, we need parent or guardian consent for your account, lesson bookings, and keeping your records. If you are 18 or over, you can register and book as an adult.

What can I do while I am waiting for approval?
  • Browse tutor profiles and subjects
  • Read about lesson formats and pricing
  • Pick the tutor you want
  • Send your parent the tutor link and ask them to book your free trial session
What if my parent does not approve my account?

If we do not receive parent or guardian approval within 30 days, your account may be deactivated and your details removed for safeguarding and data protection reasons. You can always register again later.

How do I book sessions?

If you are under 18, your parent or guardian books sessions and handles payments. You focus on learning, they handle the admin. If you are 18 or over, you can book directly yourself.

Can I have a free introduction with a tutor?

Yes. We offer a free 15 minute trial session so you can meet the tutor, explain what you need help with, and agree the plan before paying for lessons.

Is online tutoring better than in person?

Online tutoring is often better for exam progress because you can learn from home, book more easily, use interactive tools (whiteboards, screen share, past papers), and keep everything organised. In person can be great too, but online is usually more flexible and consistent.

Can I reschedule booked sessions?

Yes, as long as you request it at least 24 hours before the session start time. Rescheduling is subject to tutor availability. If you already paid, you will not be charged again for the rescheduled session.

What happens if I miss a session?

If you miss a session without giving enough notice, it is normally treated as a late cancellation and may be counted as used. If something serious happens, contact us quickly and we will be fair, but we also protect tutors’ time.

What if I am not happy with my tutor?

Tell us what did not work, for example pace too fast, not enough exam practice, explanations not clear. We will either adjust the approach or help you switch tutor so you can get the results you want.

Extra Questions Students Always Ask

What subjects do you cover?

We offer GCSE and A Level tutoring in key subjects, plus specialist support for exam technique. If you are unsure, contact us and we will tell you honestly if we can help.

How long is each session?

Most sessions are 60 minutes, but longer sessions are available if you are doing past papers, timed questions, or need deeper revision.

What happens in a typical lesson?
  • Quick check of what you understand and what you do not
  • Clear teaching with examples
  • Exam questions to lock it in
  • Feedback on how to gain marks, not just the final answer
  • A simple homework task so progress sticks
Will you help with homework and coursework?

Yes, we can help you understand homework and plan it properly. We guide, we do not do the work for you. Your grades must be your own.

Do you use past papers?

Yes, heavily. Past papers are one of the fastest ways to improve when used properly: timed practice, mark schemes, examiner language, and avoiding common traps.

Can you help if I struggle to focus or feel anxious about exams?

Yes, we can adapt sessions to be more structured, reduce overwhelm, and build confidence. We are not a medical service, but we can teach in a calmer, clearer way and use short, focused tasks.

Do my parents need to be involved?

For under 18s, a parent or guardian must approve the account and bookings. For free trials, we strongly prefer a parent present at least for the first few minutes, it keeps everything clear and safe for everyone.

Is there messaging with tutors?

Platform messaging may be available for lesson related questions. We keep communication professional and focused on learning.
